JKBOSE Amends Results: 165 Failed Students in 12th Standard Re-declared as Distinction Holders

In a significant development, the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has rectified the results of around 165 students who were initially declared as failed in all subjects of the 12th standard. The amendment and revised notification were announced in response to concerns raised by students regarding discrepancies in the results.

The JKBOSE attributed the errors to the lackadaisical approach of either the parental school or the board itself. The notification stated, “Further to the Higher Secondary Part Two examination results, at least 165 roll numbers’ results are amended, revised, and declared.”

287 students including 156 from Govt schools share first 10 positions

Earlier, a group of class 12th students held a demonstration in Srinagar’s press enclave, expressing their discontent with the results announced by the JKBOSE. They highlighted instances where students from Government Higher Secondary School Kakapora were marked absent for the practical paper of the chemistry subject and subsequently labeled as ‘reappear.’

The JKBOSE had recently declared the annual regular results of the 12th standard, with an overall pass percentage of 65 percent. Officials from the board clarified that the parental school of the affected students had not updated their award rolls, leading to the discrepancies. They emphasized that the issue was not a fault of the JKBOSE.

The amendment of results by JKBOSE aims to rectify the errors and ensure that deserving students receive the recognition they deserve.
