The Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP) is a flagship initiative of the Government of India aimed at providing quality generic medicines at affordable prices to the masses. To further expand this initiative, the PMBJP has invited online applications for the opening of Jan Aushadi Kendras in 651 districts across India.
The PMBJP has been successful in establishing more than 7,000 Jan Aushadi Kendras across the country, providing affordable medicines to the people. These Kendras are run by individuals, NGOs, private hospitals, and government agencies, and they offer a wide range of generic medicines, surgical items, and other healthcare products.

Eligibility Criteria to open Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Kendra
Must be having D. Pharma/B. Pharma Degrees, or he/she have to employ D.Pharma/B. Pharma degree holders and produce proof of the same at the time of submitting applications or at the time of final approval. Any organization, NGO applying for a PMBJK will have to employ B. Pharma / D. Pharma degree holders and produce proof of the same at the time of submitting applications or at the time of final approval. In Govt. hospital premises including medical colleges, the preferred agency would be reputed NGOs/Charitable organizations, but individuals would also be eligible.
